One contractor for the whole structure
A boathouse is a dock, a building and a roof. Many marine contractors have to bring in other trades for the framing and roofing. Capital Marine Construction holds both a Florida Certified General Contractor license and a certified roofing license, so the whole structure is built by one company under one permit.

The roof keeps sun and rain off the boat and the lift, and gives you shade on the dock. We build hip and gable roofs in metal or shingle to match the house.
Built for wind
Anything with a roof over open water has to be engineered for wind. The pilings, framing and connections are designed together so the structure carries the load down into the ground.

Do I need a permit to build or replace a dock or seawall?
Almost always, yes. Docks, seawalls and boat lifts in Brevard County need a building permit from the county or from your city, and depending on the site the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers may also need to sign off. We prepare the drawings and handle the permit applications as part of the job.
